Description
My first African American heroine for my DC Cover Girls statue series. I worked with the team at DC to come up with this new costume and hairstyle for her. The first prototype was displayed at SDCC 2014. Hope you like it!

I love this redesign. I appreciate that you kept her skin tone dark rather than trying to lighten her up (I've seen some artists make her appear nearly White). I appreciate that you were willing to give her a natural hair style instead of a relaxed hair style or something else that is a bit more eurocentric. Thank you for making a representation of this character that is honest and adeptly illustrated.Β

I've always had a love/hate for Vixen... this design though... I really like this.

I always admire artist that can do more than just "pink or white" skin races and do them well. There's color all over the world, I wish more artist would try them out too!
I think it shows true skill if an artist can nail down every skin tone from white to the darkest of browns, without muddying them or being too "general" about it.Β
the same with features, I like when an artist makes it apparent that someone is a certain race but they don't do it by making them the ugly stereotypical version of that race.Β
I guess what I am saying is that clean, nice representations of all races in art work really makes a piece great.Β
*If anyone is offended by my opinion, sorry but I mean no harm. I love all colors, but unfortunately there seems to be a lack of them in art recently...

THIS IS TREMENDOUS.Β I HAVE SEEN AND LIKED A LOT OF DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF VIXEN, BUT THIS VERSION OF THE COSTUME IS THE BEST.Β I PREFER HER WITH SHORT,CLOSE CUT HAIR,BUT THIS VERSION OF THE BRAIDS IS FANTASTIC.Β Β IT REALLY HAS SOME STYLE.Β I THINK THIS VERSION OF VIXENΒ COULD EASILY BE TURNED INTO A SERIES THAT WOULD FLY OFF THE COMIC BOOK SHELVES.Β I KNOW I WOULD BUY IT.Β MAYBE YOU CAN TALK TO SOME PEOPLE ABOUT THIS.Β YOU WOULD BE THE ARTIST OF COURSE.
