Clairefontaine's new product, Extra White Watercolor Paper:
It's truly amazing for someone like me, a "watercolor novice" who only paints once a year! The paper is exceptionally white, so even very light colors can create clear distinctions in the artwork. The color rendering is excellent, and because I struggle with controlling water, I often wash the colors back and forth numerous times. However, this doesn't damage the surface of the paper, greatly reducing frustration! The hot-pressed paper has almost no texture, so I chose to use water-soluble graphite pencils to experience very delicate blending effects. Although it's professional-grade paper, it's really suitable for watercolor beginners!
