Here we are again, waiting, as we have been doing for the last 2327 days.
Always vigilant and always ready to sound the alarm upon any early signs that the others are coming.
Our shift started at sunrise, some hours ago.
Around us a few pelydriads gently fly on the warm breeze, as they usually do at this time of day. Hopefully just another calm day ahead...

This image takes place in the same "universe" as my other image "The Patch", link below, which was based on my interpretation of the magnificent book by Nathan Van Coops, "Faster than Falling". Whereas in the first image, I tried to depict elements from the book as faithfully as I could (and as I imagined), this new image does not come from the book. Instead, it's just loosely inspired in some of the writer's concepts (mainly the living floating orbs).

The Patch:

I do like sand, how it shifts and moves, all the possibilities it presents for the creation of unusual shapes. How it lets itself be easily molded by the elements and yet all the power it contains within its movements.

I have many images with sand in my gallery. Below you can find a few of my favorites but I have more. I hope you enjoy discovering them.
