I have a character named Roxy, and he feels the same way. (He has an undiagnosed case of Dissociative Identity Disorder.)
He wants to talk to his doctor about his Alters, but he doesn't because he questions himself. And he questions himself because most of the people he's talked to about his Alters invalidated him because his case didn't fit into the majority.

Aw I have Aspergers too and I haven't let anyone on devainart know until now
What's important is that we're all special and beautiful people just the way we are and I am proud to be aspie. The things I do that are signs of Aspergers is that I love to imitate my favourite characters like the joker and I practice a lot too I have a video camera that I use to record myself doing reenactments from batman the animated series or the joker in general
yesterday I painted my face up like the joker and did some impressions on film. Β Also having Aspergers can make you gifted and talented and I have a talent in drawing.ππ

Poor girl. Coming from someone who has Asperger's. I agree that there are misconceptions about autism and Asperger's and I myself have been told autism and Asperger's are not the same thing but I'm sorry but I don't agree with that, and it is NOT a disease nor is it called by vaccinations. I believe Asperger's is something you're born with (I was going to say "or is something that develops in you" but even I think that one sounds ridiculous, I'm going with the "You're born with it")
And true I wasn't always empathetic and I was a very selfish person when I was younger, I'm almost 30 and a half now, but I have autism but the higher function of it but I have empathy for others. In fact I didn't always like having autism but now I'm glad I have it because I can relate to others who have it and I can be empathetic, not just sympathetic toward them and that's how I want to be. Plus without my autism/ Asperger's, I wouldn't have the interests I have.
I had a friend who has an autistic niece and he told me he wished he had Asperger's. I told him "Trust me, no you don't." Now I understand why he said that.
What would the world be like if absolutely everyone had Asperger's?
If you have Asperger's, don't be ashamed of it, embrace it. I mean don't it define you, as I've been told by others, but it's part of what you are, and though I didn't always do this, please, try to make the best of your Asperger's. Don't waste your time wishing you didn't have it. I mean you don't have to like this about yourself if you don't want to, but hopefully someday you'll come to embrace it. It took me almost 30 years, well less than that, to come to appreciate this about myself so take your time. But don't be ashamed to have Asperger's or autism and don't let others get you down about it.
I could say more but I'll stop.
Your fellow Aspie, William And much love to you.
Demetre Adams feels the same for you:

I have Asperger's as well. And after I've diagnosed I researched it and according to my research it is an autism spectrum. That's why i call myself autistic. But my mother say that Asperger's is different from autism and Asperger's is not autism and advised me that do not call myself autistic or I will be bullied. How could I convinced my mom that Asperger's is autism too

I have Aspergers and it has done great things for me such as my gift of drawing unlike some poor people I was never bullied for having but one girl once said to her friends about look at that weird girl I just ignored her I was only 10 or 11 back then
aspergers can make life different. It it can also make you special I research it a lot too.ππ. I'm also in a school with other kids like me and kids with more severe disabilities.

I understand this, people actually bully me because of my Asperger's. They need to teach more about Autism/Asperger's and other mental disorders and syndromes.

ππMy mum tells me all the time that having Aspergers is special and lots of people it hit are gifted take me for example I'm a girl and I do a pretty decent impression of the joker from batman the animated series it's mostly because I've been practising the voice for at least 2 years now and also aw it's so horrible when people bully others especially The ones with Aspergers like me and you
I hate bullies they make me very angryπ‘π‘

... I LOVE YOU!! This is my life ever since middle school. I moved to a new school, and people called me a homo, a criminal, an anti-social, emo, obnoxious, the list could go on forever. I feel ya man, I feel ya. But with Aspergers, I can do so many things with my life, like get into the most prestigious private high school in the state of Texas due to liking to study. And why must people critizize!?

You are so right >.< people don't have idea about what exactly this syndrome is, and judge us without knowledge. And even if you try to explain Β it, for them sometimes it's so difficult to try to understand.Β
I feel so identify with this. Good representation ^^

It took a licensed psychologist to convince my dad that Asperger's was not just a disability, but a disability that was keeping me from getting a job the same way anyone else my age would get one. I also used to be friends with people who kept treating my disability like it was just a bad habit I needed to overcome rather than an incentive to not tease me to the point of what felt like bullying most of the time.

Great comic, I'd really love to see more of it.
Unfortunately, those people will never learn :
It's not the Asperger difference that causes their misconception;
It's because they are full of misconceptions in the first place, that they'll never accept the Asperger difference.

Oh and kudos for giving Mr Asperger his apostrophe. Argh! It makes me so annoyed when people call it Asperger Syndrome instead of Asperger's Syndrome.
Cos I'm anal like that.

Oh gosh, yes it's so true. The default reaction I got when I told a couple of my workmates was, verbatim: You do NOT have Asperger's.
As if someone who sees me for a few minutes 5 times a week, or less, knows me better than I and my family do. Grrrr! After spending a lot of time watching my colleagues, I am quite adept at acting neurotypical, and giving the illusion that I'm good with customers, but the truth is I have memorised the way they talk and behave, stored it, and pull it up when necessary. It's all scripted, and far from real! Ask me how my weekend was and my brain will shut down.
I've given up trying to convince these people. And yet one of these was always making fun of my Aspie traits, yet still insists: You do NOT have Asperger's.
Screw them.

I've got ADHD, too, and I totally get what you're saying.
This actually happened to me once: I was just quietly tapping my heel against the floor while listening to someone tell me something and they actually went out of their way to tell me to stop. I told them that I am listening to them, and that I have ADHD and that this is just to keep myself occupied. This is what they said: "Yeah, right. You don't have ADHD, you just want attention. Now sit still and listen." Words cannot describe how much I want to punch people like this in the mouth. >:T
