Description
This digital painting/photo-manipulation is the result of a sequence of failures. The original photo wasn't very good to begin with, and I ended up making so many alterations to the cape, skirt, hair and body that it no longer looked like a photo. Furthermore, trying to combine 3 dolphin photos, two sunset photos, two ocean photos, and a bunch of birds, the design just started to turn to crap.

To compensate for the mess, I merged all the layers and then digitally painted it using several watercolor techniques. This effectively hid the mistakes in the photo-realism, helped balance the color tone, and ended up giving the picture a really unique look.
