In kindergarten, Riku often get mocked about his cold sensitivity. That time, he's short-tempered and never give a frick about anything-- He eventually transferred and in his new school, he meets Reimi, a girl a few years younger than him. They become friends instantly, and he develop an innocent crush on the said kid. Reimi who's smart, told him to put some efforts after seeing his bad grades. And having a soft spot for her, Riku obeyed to study more. And until now, he's very hard working.

Several years later when he's 8, he found out that Reimi gets in an accident. She survived, but lost her memories and her family. Riku's parents adopted Rei and so Reimi is his (adoptive) sister now. In grade 5, his crush on his sister is called siscon by his classmate. His temper haven't change, resulting that he's fighting too often with various person. He eventually get dropped out and moved to a new school. He separated from Rei, who told him that he should take it easy and fix his personality a bit. He learned not to be hot-headed and don't get too serious.

In the middle school, he finally get in a same school as Rei, but they're still getting teases every now and then. He only laugh it off. But since it's getting annoying, so he start to tell people how he dislikes it when being teased like that. He amused on how others doesn't tease him anymore after being blunt about his feelings. Idk what am I writing but that's how Riku become laid-back and blunt. Too laid-back and too blunt, even.
