I pre-bake and make a wire/foil/clay armature to hold up the tail feathers as it bakes and cools. I'll take some more WIP pictures of this process on my next one and post it. I'll be making a lot more of these once I finish up the few projects I'm working on right now.

If you're going to invest in tools for that type of stuff foil, wire and wire cutters and some basic plastic tools are what I started with. I can post a picture of the tools that I have if you'd like.

I think I have 20 gauge wire and I just get that near the jewelry department. The tools I use the most came from a purple 3 (double ended) pack made by sculpey, and there are also these nice wooden tools that I think come in a 5-7 pack but I can't remember who makes them. I'm pretty sure both of those are under $10. If you get them at michaels or Joann's they have 40% off and sometimes 50% off coupons online that you can print off or use with your phone.

Thank you! I'm happy you like it! =] I'll be making a batch of blue/white ones as soon as I'm done with my current projects. I'll be making micro, mini and regular sized ones. This one is a regular sized one.
