Description So I read a series of books (the first is Hawksong, but I can't remember the rest), where two shapeshifters from different races were having a baby. The cross was a cobra and a hawk.

This isn't fan-art, because it looks nothing like how the actual child turned out (to the best of my knowledge), but it got me thinking...I wondered what a bird and a snake would look like if they were to cross and I came up with my own explanation. To be honest, my favorite part of this drawing is the tail. I love how it turned out. It would also, as my fiance pointed out, serve a great help in changing direction while in flight.

I'm pretty pleased with this drawing. I still need to work on feathers, as they lack detail, but overall, I think this turned out rather well.

Oliza's wyvern form was first describe in Falcondance, but she had her own book (though I feel the series should had ended differently). Besides the fact that this wyvern is lacking her legs and talons, she looks nice. I love the head most of all, it really fits with the idea that this wyverns could almost be like modern dinosaurs (though I view them kind of more like raptors).

I love her wings.

This is actually rather accurate. There might have been some mention of legs in there somewhere, but that was rather unclear.

I was a little unclear on the actual description, especially because I've STILL only read the first three books (Wow, I really need to go back to that series and read more now), but it was really fun. I like the idea of legs, because I'm not sure how she'd land otherwise without scraping all her scales painfully. But I also like the idea of her still being able to slither, so I'm not sure which I'd prefer.

I have an odd obsession with details and how they'd work in different situations. LOL

This is awesome, I think this is sort of how they described Wyvern in the book, which wasn't how I imagined wyverns, but oh well.
This is very cool

The books never seemed to give an exact description...at least not the three that I read (hawksong, snakecharm, and falcondance). I'm not sure if she's written more in the series that describe the wavern better, though.

This is how I imagined it when they first found out Danika was pregnant in Snakecharm, and (though not how i imagined waverns either), I really had fun with the drawing!

Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, she doesn't mention it until the book "Wolfcry". I think that Hawksong and Snakecharm were the best in the series

Great job once again on the picture. I love it!

I agree that those are my favorites so far. Falcondance was alright, but no where near as good as the first two.

Very well done Amazing details and great wings and I agree with you, the tail looks very good (a little worn in a natural way)
makes me think more of an amphitere than a wyvern but who cares XD

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. It was completely done with a ball-point pen, which made the shading really fun to do.

Haven't heard of an amphitere before...off to google it. ^.^

It's not a very known dragon but I like it. Loves to add birdwings on reptiles XD

I love dragons, and any reptile with wings. Adding the bird wings on the snake was fun because it was a challenge to go from feather to scale without an obvious line between the two. ^.^
