Description The words I whisper in your ear are never mine to hear.

I'll upload a better shot of this sketch later, the greyness outside doesn't benefit photography. I don't mind the coolness of the rain, though I'm stuck inside the house studying and talking to random people. I've watched a documentary about Van Gogh's life and I admire him even more now. I'm often asked about what kind of people I want to meet and he's definitely one of the few; did this present create people like him? Probably not, everyone we meet in unique. That's wonderful and unbearably sad at the same time. I fear that Van Gogh was right, "La tristesse durera toujours".

There is a lot of pathos in this sketch, I really like the flow and movement of the one in the middle and the expression of the woman on the right.

Thank you. To be honest, I just wanted to test my charcoals; her expression is probably mine, I can't help not to depict my own feelings.

Well, it turned out pretty cool. I bought a box of charcoals some months ago but I haven't found the courage to use them yet.
I can understand, afterall an artist puts a piece of themeself in what they do, right?

Well, if you don't find the courage to draw with charcoals you can always use them to make a terrarium. XD
As Oscar Wilde says, "every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter".

This shall be their destiny.
That is a very wise thought.

good job so far...   i can really the sadness.   you do well at depicting emotions.   can't wait to see finished work.  what does 'tristesse' mean?

hope you get a chance to meet Van Gogh...    !

In the afterlife? I'm sure we'll meet then.
Tristesse means sadness. Van Gogh's words remained with me, I thought about his sadness and my own, about loneliness, and how little one needs to feel happy. I think he just needed to feel accepted and loved.

Interesting.  Thanks for that comment.  Speaking of words, did you read of my answer to people about living, dying, and so forth...
Everyone is born with a certain amount of words to be used.  Some get many, others not.  When one's words are used up, that person dies. That's why someone may utter a few words before dying, then stops mid-sentence.  He/she just ran out. A newborn that dies obviously wasn't born with any words...  A politician is usually born with too many. Oh well,

No, I don't remember reading your answer. I think there was a movie with a similar subject.
What about love? Do you think people can love only a certain number of times? I think I ran out of love for other people.

...good point.   No, I really think that you can love many times.  I didn't believe and still don't believe in 'soulmates', love at first sight, etc.
However I DO believe that there is someone (more than one, if you really wanted to look) for everyone.  I've seen my theory proven.  I sure wish you luck...   You are still young enough to find love.   And it will happen...
