Description Some quick sketches of people on the bus and a few of my classmates and teachers. Seriously, always take a sketch book wherever you go, there is always an opportunity to draw something interesting.

I love how devoted you are to art! Taking a sketchbook wherever you go, jeez xD If I do that I'll probably lose it within 5 minutes ;~;

ArtistsBlood In reply to Seechan [2013-07-30 10:33:01 +0000 UTC]

haha aww I bet you wont lose it that fast, just be very aware of where it is, though I have lost my sketch book probably 5 or 6 times this year. haha but each time I get a little better at knowing where it is.

Hey, I didn't know that Ink was one of your classmates! >u< Hee-hee. These are really good. I need to practice this sort of stuff more... My skills are lacking greatly. Is it hard simplifying what you see into simple lines? I tend to shade and avoid lines with realism. 0.0

ArtistsBlood In reply to RalleyZero [2013-07-30 11:06:20 +0000 UTC]

haha who would have thought. He just snuck in there when I was drawing. aww really it's not that hard, just practice, when you look at it in a whole like that it will look hard, that's why you gotta break it down, you gotta see a person in simple shapes first. Then you add in more detailed lines to your rough sketch. Id'e say just research a few video's. You must break it down first before you can understand it, even for artists who go into animation, cartoons, illustrators have to understand it. Before you can exaggerate the human body and break the rules, you need to know them first. Just research some gesture drawing, try drawing what you see. when you're learning Id'e say seeing how it's done can help you understand it more as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmiwGm… www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1nxf5…

I'm always nervous to draw people. Like, what are they gonna do if they see me staring at them?? And then they look down and see ke drawing them??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtistsBlood In reply to AcoustiqueRain [2013-06-26 15:32:34 +0000 UTC]

I try to be as secretive as possible while doing it, playing it very cool not quite looking at them, peripheral vision, or looking at something else to look at them. though some people catch me and Iv'e gotten all sort of reactions from it, some people smile, some laugh, some complimentary, some just like to watch me draw and some give scary looks. XD

AcoustiqueRain In reply to ArtistsBlood [2013-06-27 23:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think I would be most anxious if they gave me scary looks or started watching me. I am not a huge fan of being watched while I sketch, even though I know it is usually not done to be mean. Most people just think it's cool :] I'll have to try to be inconspicuous while I sketch portraits :]

And where did you find that glorious sailor moon man x3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtistsBlood In reply to fuegokid [2013-06-26 15:26:53 +0000 UTC]

haha he had a great face, I was kinda miffed when he had to leave when I started drawing him, I didn't know what to do with the rest of his face so I bestowed upon him the sailor moon look.

MadcapMarquess [2013-06-26 07:14:35 +0000 UTC]

I think I'll try to do that when school starts up again. It seems like a really good way to practice drawing faces.

ArtistsBlood In reply to MadcapMarquess [2013-06-26 07:21:06 +0000 UTC]

It is great, drawing from life is the best way to learn. Id'e suggest just going online and finding some bodies to start drawing now. Drawing the human body is a great way to improve. and then timing yourself as well. Honestly during my high school years Iv'e never scene myself improve so fast then when I took a figure drawing class.

MadcapMarquess In reply to ArtistsBlood [2013-06-26 15:02:29 +0000 UTC]

All it takes is a good art class and lots and lots of practice... Only one year of high school has gone by for me and there's major differences between the ones done at the start of the year and at the end of the year. I'll do as you suggest so I can enter the next year running.
