The Brotherhood is a Mutant Terrorist Organization who wishes to place mutant-kind in power. The Brotherhood currently has a secret base of operations on the moon.

Black Wind was born in Savanna, Georgia approximately 20 years ago. Her family was poor, and she was the sixth child. She was an average child until her mutant abilities manifested on her fifteenth birthday. The actual mutant abilities were not of world shaking abilities, but the transformation made her more beautiful, smarter, naturally more dexterous, and quicker than most other children. In school, she excelled in her studies without trying and her natural abilities for science and computers gained her numerous college scholarships. Her uncommon beauty soon saw offers from modeling agents who wanted her for magazine covers. From her humble beginnings, she moved into the vogue crowds. Her natural grace was acclaimed, but she hid her ability to run the mile in less than three minutes for she feared it might disqualified her from the school track team, and reveal she was a mutant. With the monies from her athletic and academic scholarships, she graduated Suma cum Lodi, and entered the University of Georgia.

With her college paid for, Black Wind had little worries while she attended school. She participated in the college track team and held back her natural talents so she did not win all the races. Her academic classes, she scored with high grades. All was good until the Purification League appeared one night as she was training on the track field. With no one around, she let herself experience her full natural abilities. The Purification League appeared out of the night and captured her. They took her to a laboratory, and did experiments on her body. When the Purification League doctors where done, Black Wind's arms severely damaged. The Brotherhood had found the Purification base and rescued her.

Monolith fashioned a pair of cybernetic arms to worn over Black Wind's disfigured arms, which made her stronger than she was before. He also outfitted her with a force field generator that she usually wears as a piece of jewelry, and a flight pack. After a discussion, she agreed to join the Brotherhood, and vowed to stop the Purification League. She took the name Black Wind.
