this is adorable and precious...
long time ago i used to play piano, but i don't have one anymore, only an electric keyboard which is a poor substitute... i like to play calm music and this painting of you has very much of the feeling i like - bravo...

Though I must in all fairness say I prefer your equine and landscape art - this scene exhudes a feeling of intimacy that nothing to do with technique and everything to do with talent. Well done!

are you a full time painter? is this what you do for living? what's it llike? has your relationship to art changed?
aha, sorry, just curious- because you're very productive

Yes I have been painting fulltime for about 5 years...it's great, thanks to a wonderfull husband who supports me. I have my own studio in the basement and usually paint everyday between 6-10 hours...although there are times when I'm travelling or have visiters or just get busy where I don't paint for days. My style also lends itself to painting fast...I rarely use a small brush. And also acrylics are a fast drying medium.

yes! love acryllics. They're just such a flexible paint- to build texture, washes, and use on just about any surface. However they do dry a shade darker, which can be a problem sometimes

I love the light source in this one. Also, I love the orange and blue together, great contrast

Heh, I understand this, or least I think I do. It makes me smile, the same way seeing the ballet class at school makes me smile and remeber...
