Looks a bit like a mix-up of Tauriel from the Peter Jackson's film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, the Sisters of the Thorn and Wild Riders from Warhammer Fantasy, other than that well done,

The game itself was quite good by the way, try it if you haven't yet. That been said, you painted your knight very well. Its just funny that seemingly everyone assume that elven female knights should ride deer instead of horses.

Yeah I figured that it is an elven warrior I just think that it is different than mine, I mean it's elf on a deer and that's the only one similarity, but thanks for the info anyways.
This was painted for a client and his wish was for this elven girl to ride deer so that's why I painted her on a deer and not on a horse and also the reason I think everyone is assuming that elves don't ride horses is... that it's just plain boring. Elves are mythical creatures and therefore it's more interesting to see them riding some majestic creatures other than just a normal horse.

Maybe that's their reason, but I think that riding a horse doesn't look boring at all. Few games allow to ride any kind of mount, not to mention a horse specifically. Even less of them allow to fight while mounted. Majority of RPGs still force players to walk on foot. And stereotypical elf particularly associated with a bow, rather than with a horse.

I mean, a lot of races ride horses, why should they all ride horses. It's far more interesting for me to see an elf on a deer or saber cat, like the ones in warcraft games. And yeah it sucks that in a lot of RPGs we are forced to walk on foot.
Btw elves are associated with bows because they were usually great archers in a lot of mythologies. The very first mentions of elves were saying about human-like archers from wild forests, so that is the reason.

If I'm not mistaken elves as human like race with pointed ears created by Tolkien. And so the bows as their preferred weapon and so on, adopted from him by other writers, role-players and others. However in Tolkien's books elves actually rode horses. In fact every adventurer in his books did, even halflings.

Well, actually no, they were not created like that by Tolkien but "officialy" by Thomas Mallory, something about 500 years ago.
However, there were other even earlier mentions about elves as pointed-ears humans, even in my country's mythology, but they actually did not use bows, they used magic instead.

Tolkien himself of course said about original elves from folklore, where they were described as little fairy like folk who used magic and could make someone rich if get caught. He explained that he named his ancient race of long living people with pointy ears after them, because of magic and other reasons. Fantasy ever since exploited his concept, rather than folklore.

Sorry Mate but I must say that you are incorrect. As I said before, elves as we see them in Tolkien's work, where they use bows, swords, they have their culture and were long living human-like creatures with pointy ears, were created by Thomas Mallory and that's a fact (in his work they were called elves and faes). So yea.. Tolkien wasn't the one who created them but he definitely made bigger impact on media and fantasy genre because of the times that he lived in.

Awesome job! First, the fur on the deer look really good, the brushstrokes flow well body its body. Next is the armor, which I think is done well. The gold and green look good together and the detail are simple yet effective in giving off that noble quality you expect of a knight.
