I drew this for the shaunthesheep.com website's monthly competition, for their May 2015 theme: "The Flock Visit the Restaurant". I thought this was a difficult theme to work with - how could I think up anything even half as funny as what already happened in the film?! But I thought about it for a bit, and after a while I started to wonder what kind of restaurant Shaun and his friends would choose to go to, and I realized there could be quite a bit of disagreement here. Nuts has a taste for ice-cream, as we know from the film; The Twins would be keen to take advantage of a 2 for 1 offer; while Shirley would insist on the "All You Can Eat" buffet. But how to express all this in one small drawing? This picture is the result. All Shaun's friends are making their suggestions, with some voices threatening to drown out the others! Bitzer loves bones of course, so he's rather excited about the prospect of a nice T-bone steak, while Hazel quietly mentions that she would much prefer a vegetarian establishment. Timmy is poking his cousin in the fleece and demanding to go somewhere that sells enormous cakes, while his Mum thinks somewhere family-friendly would be more appropriate. It doesn't look like Shaun will be getting to that cocktail bar any time soon!
