A fairytale-based project collaboration between me and my good friend Illord titled, “Journey Through The Woods”, (Alt. Titles being “Journey Through The Forest” and “Life’s A Fairytale”). Go and check out his end of the collab over on his page.

Story centres around Beth, a human teen, finding herself lost in a strange forest inhabited by fairytales characters. She forms a companionship a few as they journey through the dark woods. All the while being stalked by the Big Bad Wolf. The gimmick for this idea being that all the characters, other than Beth, are animated/cartoon characters. Much like the old films of the day (Mary Poppins, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Incredible Mr. Limpet, etc.)

By now, we’ve reached “Season 2”, or “S2” of our heroine’s adventure in the woods. Set two years later, her adventures this time is a loose adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s “Snow Queen”.

Concepts for the Snow Queen and her Snow Bees. An idea being that, when wearing her fur coat, she resembles that of a bee. In contrast w/ her nearly skeletal figure underneath. Like shards of ice. Tested out having her w/ a beehive hairdo to drive home the idea of her being a “queen bee” so to speak.

1) Concept for the Snow Queen’s castle in the mountains.
2) For the finale, an avalanche swallows up the entirety of the castle. The causes for it? I’m unsure of at the moment.

Modelled after real bees (w/ their physical differences and assigned roles in the hive kept in mind).
