Description Here is an assortment of the native wildlife that live on the remote island where the past meets the present:

- Acrocanthosaurus: This is one of the lesser known predators, but still rather bad-ass. This animal had large neural spines running along it’s back, which most likely was covered in muscle. This animal reached 11 metres in length and stood over 3 metres. I’ve decided to make this, or Carcharodontosaurus (or both) as the main antagonist instead of the more popular Tyrannosaurus. I gave him a more vulture-like/fleshy face opposed to the common skin wrapped look (might be inaccurate, but you could say I took some creative liberties w/ the designs).

- Troodon: Troodon had the largest brain-to-body ratio of the dinosaurs, meaning it was intelligent. Their teeth suggest it had an omnivorous diet, possibly of small reptiles, mammals, insects, or possibly other dinosaurs. For the design, I decided to go for the more owl-like face/appearance rather than the traditional hawk/raptor look (I might do a sketch devoted to this concept in the future). The coloration/design would like that of the barn owl.

- Carnotaurus: For the horned, snake-jawed, dinosaur-cheetah; I gave it a fleshy neck piece (like that of a cassowary or turkey) to go w/ the throat pouch it had (it is hypothesized that it ate like a snake due to it’s flexible skull) and broad horns opposed to the larger female (not shown here) which would’ve had less broad horns.

- Entelodon: Also known as the “Hell Pig”, this animal is a ferocious omnivore w/ a face only a mother could love. The design is based on the more dog-like/hippo-like look as this animal is now considered closer to a hippo/whale than a pig.

- Paraceratherium: I read this and this , which suggest Paraceratherium was more horse-like than rhino-like. I liked the idea that this animal was more horse than rhino, so I went w/ that. For the design, I added more horse-like features all the while keeping the familiarity of what it is. I also used the giraffe as reference as well, adding some spots/‘freckles’ on the face. I added some trees and birds in the background for scale.

- Edmontosaurus: Recycled design from an earlier post here .

- Elasmotherium: Nothing much to add, other than that this is basically a wooly unicorn.

- Lambeosaurus: I gave the animal a throat pouch to mimic it’s crest as a means to attract mates and confuse predators (like a moth).

- Plesiosaur: Gave the animal ‘half-rings’ along it’s neck to camouflage it’s head in other to get as close as possible to it’s prey (schools of fish). Also gave it lips (much like modern toothed whales/porpoises/dolphins, etc.)

- Brachiosaurus: Recycled design from an earlier post here .

- Allosaurus: I gave it a more eagle/vulture looking face and added short, barely noticeable plumage that would’ve covered most of it’s upper body/thighs/arm(s)/neck, etc.

As you can see, I’ve put a lot of though process into the world I’m creating w/ this idea. If you have any ideas/concepts you wish to share, feel free to leave a comment  below.
