Description

i'm soon gonna be making a page specifically for all this kinda developmental material! but for now, here's the community shelter that is gonna feature heavily in the webcomic i'm planning to finally start! it's a lot better than the ship moon and the other protagonist stay in so they bum around in this a lot!

there's more stuff on the other side but the majority of the features can be seen from this view!

Holy shit this looks great. I tried using Sketchup a few times but I'm really bad with 3D and depth perception so nothing worked out in the slightest. XD this looks Amazing!

thank you! i've not found it tooooo bad, honestly. like it can be fiddly as all buggery sometimes but with persistence it is possible! and it deffo makes designing scenery and environments and such a lot less stressful!

Maybe I should get back at trying to figure it out again. Because honestly something like that does help me massively with trying to draw backgrounds since I hate drawing them usually XD

i don't get the same kind of satisfaction from using it as i do when i draw a background from scratch, but it takes a lot of time and effort to use sketchup so it isn't ENTIRELY cheating! and it really does help a whole hell of a lot, if only to make sure you're getting the perspective and vanishing points and whatever right!

It's not cheating any more than photo editing and photography are. Even if you didn't draw it as a BG, you still took the time to edit it and alter it into something that fits the picture you add it into so no matter what you've put a lot of work into it.

Yeah I'm sure that would help a LOT with perspective!

Damn, that looks great! Sketchup can be a real bitch to use sometimes, but you seem to be pretty good with it so far.
