Description I did this, not so long back, but only presented it on my site and didn't work on it much anymore. This isnt really a new cast of characters more like an update to some old ones. My main goal was to strengthen my character designs just a tad. Which, involved more complicated designs for armor and hair.

This was bult in Cinema 4d 8 Poly by Poly<-------
Body Paint was used for painting interactly onto the faces.
Armor was textured using system shaders-Noise for Bump and Specular Metal
Hair was made with Splines +Lofting. Textured only with an Trans Map. Used a white shade for Hair color.

The design on the armor looks so realistic. The character's hairstyle looks really nice and well and somehow, the top guy reminds me a bit of Ansem from KH. O: Prolly cuz the hairstyle is alike, heh. ^^

I have 3 questions: How do you create such detail in the armour on you characters? How do you come up with these ideas? and do you know a good place for a tutorial on face/body modelling, or a tutorial on creating humanoid armour?

That's amazing. I like it very much. I use C4D XL-7.1 and I don't get much of the cool options. Mayb have to upgrade someday. Great job!

man.. just when i thought ur nothing could be better than ur last few models... this is definetly awesome, so did you make all the armour poly by poly?i gotta get back into modelling again, especially some more poly modelling

Indeed I would like to move on to changing things in terms of quality and design. Slowly I'm trying to break away into more diversed areas and themes. Not really into the whole elf, big sword, videogame inspired stuff..but try to take it a step further and rework my original roots of artistry. 3d may be a lil stale at times, but Is my medium of choice to acheive what I would like to do and look forward to doing.

I'd call this work impressive, but that'd be an understatement. This is a step in the right direction, towards improving your character designs. The definitely all look like unique individuals.
