I really like the complimentary colors (I bet it looks even better in real life!) and the fact that even though a lot fo the action is going on at the top of the painting, the dragon's head is placed in a great spot to help guide your eyes over the rest of the painting. I would be interested to hear what your instructor's thoughts were!
