I love the work, but I never understood the trend toward unrealistically huge weapons. The only one in that picture that could realistically wield a blade that size would be Tiny.

For me, one of the aspects of concept art and alternate universes that I love is imagining things that might not be possible in the real world. Β I admit, good concepts have to be grounded to some degree in reality for audiences to relate and be immersed but I also appreciate the extreme and crazy. Β
To speak to your point specifically, large weapons are a display of power and I think many people like imagining the idea that they are super powerful. Β
