Description "We kind of have a history!"

I did think it was kind of weird of Atrus to call us in for an objective opinion on what to do about Sirrus and Achenar, You know, after the events of Myst and Exile...

Also, do you like my totally inaccurate and Seussified portrayal of the book holders? I wasn't going to let a lack of references hold me down!

I wonder if Cyan would really like to reverse engineer the technology scattered in the Ages? He does seems to be the type to do just that.

Artoveli In reply to Alisbet [2012-12-27 20:51:56 +0000 UTC]

Actually Cyan doesn't have a really good head for circuitry (he haaaaated Spire Age for that reason), so a lot of Atrus' inventions would be beyond him in terms of reverse-engineering.

LOL, seriously. Cyan: After I saw all the atrocities that they committed first/secondhand through the course of two games, now you want my opinion if you should let β€˜em out of the proverbial slammer, Atrus? Dude. Burn the red book. Now. It will save you (and more importantly, me) a whole lot of trouble if you do. Alright, now that you’ve had my β€œobjective” opinion, when’s lunch?
Just popped into my head. Cyan’s expression is win.

Cyan would be more concerned about burning the BLUE book, actually. Even after the events of Revelation he can never quite bring himself to like Achenar in any way, shape or form.

Awww. But Achenar's good nao! (Granted, I've never actually been able to finish the game (frickin' spider chair on Spire *grumblecurse*), but I've been spoiled silly, so )

Call it petty, but Cyan can't get over Mechanical Age/what happened to Saavedro. He'd like to, but it's just not happening.

Hahaha this is lovely!
Yeah I'm kind of wondering why Atrus called us in to decide the fates of two men who completely screwed up Saavedro and tried to deceive us...very objective.

This is a good point that for some reason didn't occur to me until you made this picture. I guess we're objective in the sense that we don't trust either brother more?

Either way, very funny.

Sarilane [2010-01-13 11:27:32 +0000 UTC]

I find myelself less than objective for slightly different reasons. If given an actual opportunity to voice my opinions, they would undoubtedly revolve around a secret plot involving the molestation of Sirrus.

"Burn them immediately! But here, I'll handle it, it would be too traumatic for you..."

I was thinking the same thing. You know, it seems like Game-Atrus goes a little out of his way to include the stranger in the plot. He would be so S.O.L. without him.

Amazing!

My exploratory and adventurous nature would somehow overwhelm me if Atrus asked me for an opinion...

I would say "Just keep 'em out here like so, give me a linking book - and a gun. With plenty of bullets. Darts are also acceptable." :3

JakeHowler [2009-12-14 14:14:56 +0000 UTC]

Ever since they first met on K'veer, Atrus has become so dependent on Cyan to solve his relationship problems, didn't he? Or is it just to have someone to blame in case something goes wrong?

Anyway, I find it odd the fact that Atrus always have to be somewhere else when the crisis begin and only reappear after its over... I think there's something to it... Or am I just too suspicious of the old man?

Hahah. I loved this pic, it gave me a good laugh!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Artoveli In reply to JakeHowler [2009-12-14 20:45:48 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, well Atrus was actually there when the events of Exile began, he just... couldn't follow you into the book, conveniently enough...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JakeHowler In reply to Artoveli [2009-12-16 01:52:37 +0000 UTC]

And that's because the fire wasn't even near the linking book when you link (contrary to what Atrus says when you return).
