Description
Evolutionary related Eagle and Lizard. I wanted to juxtapose them to emphasize the similarities between them(eyes, colors...) and contrast the differences (feathers vs scales).W&N pigments on Arches 140lbs CP paper.

A very striking painting; I like the concept behind this. The title 'eye to eye' describes the flow in this work perfectly, as my eye travels back and forth between the two animals. Their eyes seem to be symbolically depicted here: The eagle's eye seems to be associated with the sun and the dinosaur's eye with the moon. This could be interpreted as life and death, the survival of one species and the extinction of the other. The division of warm and cool colours also support this interpretation. Well done!

Thanks. I'm fascinated by birds of prey - so focused and determined, arnt they? I'm not too keen on lizard but they can have brilliant colors and patterns.
