Thank you! I wish I could say that I can draw like this, but my drawings never end up this nice. It's only through massaging a painting enough that I can get a drawing to look okay. :\

It's sort of like "noodling," but I take noodling to be about adding detail only, while "massaging" is more like adjusting falloffs, contrasts, and gradients. You can have a painting completely "noodled" out and still have "massaging" to do. Not technical terms, of course. Maybe there are real words for these ideas that I just don't know.
