Not Bad!
So...your rig. IK or FK?

Oh, sorry.
FK or IK is the way the skeleton is parented.
FK is for foreward Kinematics. It the most basic, and the most intutive method. For exemple, you move your shoulder, the rest of arm will follow with it.
IK, or inverse kinematics, is very counter-intuitive, must also the most useful for animation. It's literally the opposite. You point were you arm will go, and the shoulder will adjust accordingly.
I'd suggest staying on FK at the moment.besides, it's FK by default, you need a modifier for IK.
And, yes, i do like following your process. There aren't many people making Sonic models from scratch, most of people use pre-made SFM models, or models ripped from games or such.
And Sonic X models....well, it's even rarer!

Who knows, maybe we could share tips!
I'm alway looking forward to improving my methods.

You'll learn.
You have no idea how much head-banging I've had when I first started modeling!
The hard part is figuring how to do it the first time.
Once you've done it properly once, doing it again is easy.

Oh, Absolutely agree. Itβs very difficult to start, but then the magic begins. And then youβre doing it light, Iβve been tormented with animation and a skeleton for 3 years (I spent a year in the army and forgot a lot), but now I canβt even believe that this stage has passed

Likewise!
You know it took me an entire week just to find out how move in the viewport?

I mean, how should have I know to press control-f?!?
And the manual is SUPER useless....
