It's finished, finally!
.... I think I finally got a good photo! 
This is a gift for my wonderful husband Joseph, to whom I have been happily married for almost 21 years. Our Anniversary is on June 24th, and I can't wait to give this to him...
It was difficult trying to keep this a secret from him. I actually worked on the preliminary sketches for it with him sitting not 5 feet away as he was surfing the net. 
He almost caught me at it, and according to my daughter also almost discovered it's hiding place behind some of my other artwork on my easel... I could only work on the big painting when he was at work...frustrating when you're in an Artsy mood. Anyway...It is done. My interpretation of us in our younger years, back in the days of the Old West. Joe is a big fan of Clint Eastwood so I depicted him in a typical Clint Eastwood pose dressed as Clint would. Me, I'm along for the ride. I love westerns too, and I've loved horses forever, so there you have it.
Hope he likes it... fingers crossed.
...actually, I'm sure he will love it... I just can't wait show the painting to him.Mixed media... acrylics, colored pencils and some plain old graphite pencils. 18 x 24

It has been soooo hard not giving in and showing this to him.
So how have you been? We spent yesterday shopping for new livingroom furniture...exhausting...We've been looking since before Christmas, and thought we'd found some then, ordered it, but they took forever getting it for us so we finally told them to keep it and we've been keeping an eye out since then for new stuff. Finally found some yesterday... Yay!

It's weird that he seems to be looking at all, because we don't generally exchange gifts on occasions like this. It means more when you give a gift purely out of love, not just because it's expected on a Birthday or Anniversary. It's nice just to give a gift because you want to.
