Description A little Sea Dragon inspired by my latest drawing of a lockpicking dragon. Thanks to for suggesting that he looked like a seahorse or I never would have thought of this.

This little guy is capable of flight out of the water for short periods. He is quite spiny, his barbs cause an irritaing sting that leaves an itchy red rash behind if you are unlucky enough to come in contact with them. He is also capable of breathing a hot noxious vapor to ward of predators...So beware!
He preys on small marine wildlife and loves to sunbathe in shallow pools when the weather permits. Please watch your step while wading in ocean tide pools or you will be sorry.

The painted version of my little dragon... [link]

Pencil lineart on 8 1/2 x 11 computer paper...I will probably color this at some point...

Feel free to color this. Please follow all DA rules. Send me a link so I can see what you've come up with, and of course give me credit for the lineart.

Thanks to all who have a look and or fave this! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Very cool concept...did you know that there IS such thing as a sea dragon?? They look a little like a seahorse but are much more spectacular.

Awww, he is sweet!
The wings would be interesting to get him through the water I would imagine. I like how you came up with the description for the "biology" of the little guy. I am impressed that you came up with him so fast!

Thanks! I am impressed that I came up with him so fast too! He just popped into my head all of a sudden yesterday morning and I couldn't stop until he was done. His biology sort of just happened spur of the moment too as I was submiting him to DA. I hadn't planned on adding it.

You're welcome. As I was told once, ride those moments of creative thinking while there. Mine unfortunately start at 1:00am.

You have one quick thinking imagination!

This is so true...and I too have had moments early in the morning too...it's best to write them down when you think of them or they will be forgotten by morning...

...my imagination and I have our moments... lol!

I have to think about carrying a notebook around now, especially for the story. Otherwise, I'm like "Wait! I had it ...bugger!"

lol, just don't argue out loud with it!

Good idea!

lol, that might seem a bit strange to someone watching... I have been known to talk to myself, but usually while I'm alone in my studio trying to make something work...
