Yes, Metal Sonic has a soft spot for Annie.
They met while Eggman brought him to an attack on Team Sonic, and while Metal was chasing Sonic, Annie began to chase Metal and grab him, saying “Tag! Now YOU try and tag me!” Metal was annoyed at first but eventually, after 4 times of this..he got distracted and started to chase Annie instead. Then he started having fun! They did this forever until Eggman commanded him to stop..but Annie begged Metal to stay. So he did..and they played until Annie’s bedtime. But when she went outside the next day, Metal was there! And from then on he started becoming the Gemerl to Annie’s Cream. What a beautiful story that I made up on the spot <3
