you used charcoal right? I once tried to use charcoal but it made the paper dirty (and my hand ) how did you manage to keep the paper clean? I'm just curious on how to use charcoal

my hands are getting dirty all the time when i use charcoal.i put something...well paper...on top of already drawn part of the drawing to do not smudge anything(if it makes any sense.....)
