Ascension Atop Mountain Peak

Two years ago today, I learned that someone very dear to me passed away. Everyday the sense of loss and sorrow has manifested itself in different ways. Today, the facade of serenity in this piece wells up flood of feelings instead of quelling them, but it helps me remember her fondly.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a resin figure that I custom built and painted. It was customized from a garage kit (GK). The modifications/build, assembly and paint work took over 100 hours, over a span of nine months. The figure is entirely hand-brushed by me.

The figure is 1/12-scale, measuring 6.0 inches tall (15.2 cm), excluding the snowcap mountain base. Her face is about the size of pinky fingernail. She balances atop the snowcap.

Modifications I made to the figure:
- Extensive putty work on the existing hair pieces.
- Added hair strands and the bangs.
- Modified her back.
- Modified the mountain base, so that it is jagged on all sides.
