Description The Half-Goddess, Half-Demon Urd is quite seductive, and I hope this view brings out her temptress flair.

********

She is a custom resin figure that I made from two different Ah! My Goddess (character copyright: Kousuke Fujishima) garage kits (GKs). The figure is 1/8-scale, about 8 inches tall. She is entirely hand-brushed by me. The whole figure took about one year to build and paint (in-between work and life stuff, of course. )

I really wanted to bring out Urd's sexiness and highlight the eternal conflicts between her angelic and demonic blood. So, to that end I made many modifications and special effects:

- Spliced and heat-reshaped hair strands to create a more dynamic flare, and to accommodate the wings.
- "Borrowed" a pair of wings from a Belldandy GK, and modified them to fit (this is considered "kit-bash" or conversion).
- The wings are made to be detachable.
- The pink dress trains are also detachable.
- Both the white and black wings have textured feathers effect, which was achieved by using thickened enamel.
- Extensive puttying.
- Resculpted legs.

More details and work-in-progress (WIP) pictures about the modifications and build process can be found in my Scraps.

I really love the AMG figures, and yours are awesome. I wish they were comercial, but i guess that's an impossible XD

Well, I have several Urd original sculpt projects that are work-in-progress. A couple of them may turn into kits, if there's enough interest.

melficexd In reply to ArtyAMG [2010-01-03 02:43:07 +0000 UTC]

That's a double edge sword. Of course, there will always be interest, but if people couldn't afford to get them, would be the same as if you didn't release them =.=U. But this kind of articles always have inconditional public XD.

yeah, i kept looking, but i didn't see anything other than a few pieces that were painted with pearlescent

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

ArtyAMG In reply to Kizziesama [2008-01-24 05:19:44 +0000 UTC]

Hi Kizziesama!

Two ways to do pearlescent:
1) use pre-mixed, like from Testors' Model Master Acryl brand
2) mix Pearl Ex powder into your regular paint

Please see the following pic in the scrapbook section:
