I really don't think Loonpaw's here with any ill intent. Minnowstar clearly felt as though she owed Brightstar after Rainpaw called out her apprentice's murderer, and we've been slowly seeing her standing up to that stupid cult little by little as time goes on.
I think Loonpaw might have been sent here for her own safety. It's possible that her own mentor was murdered, and that Minnow simply doesn't want a rival clan to know that her home is in such disarray.
Then again, that's just me rambling to myself.
