everyone talking about how it's so bad that they can't eat the fish, and they should just let them eat the fish, but like,,, its their religion/way of life. if they've lived like that for a while, it would be horrible for them to just stop. it was previously mentioned that other issues are overpopulation and overhunting, which could also be dealt with!

Compare it to Hinduism where cows are sacred. Hell we don't know hardly ANYTHING about the religion. What if they believe that they're reincarnated into fish? Would you want people to eat your reincarnated loved ones? The family seems to be fairly taken care of and so far we've seen Trout trying to take care of the Daisys at least a little bit. There's a chance they believe that the Daisys should just serve the Tide (since the infographic Aru also posted seems to state the Daisys are different in that regard) and that would lead to them being taken care of.

Yes, I get that. But if you have a rule and have had a rule for a long time, you don't just be like, "oh whatever! lets break this rule that we've had for generations!" It's something that takes a while to fix.

Coming from a non-atheist standpoint myself, i can understand them respecting the tide (didn't expect them to also not be allowed to eat fish though! I wonder if seaweed would be allowed to be eaten. Seeing as it comes from the sea too. XD). Just wished the island was big enough for the daisies to live life their own. Though i suppose that in that case the Tide Serving cats would either need the food from their side of the island, or simply force them to abide under their rules due to wanting to serve the tide the best way.
