"Viridis Incendia" -- pen-on-paper doodle~Still stuck in doodle phase~
Sometimes small doodles (8 1/2 x 11 inches or 21.6 x 27.9 cm) are easier to commit to. ^_^ I have gifts and collaborations I'm supposed to be working on, but can't seem to find my inspiration lately. I seem to have motivation to do mindless doodles, on the other hand. Like in "Elixir of Life", I started with the outline of the profile and let the drawing just expand from there. This is another one that would be interesting to do in color when I get around to it.
Again, no story to go with or draw inspiration from. The idea of a woman holding a butterfly in her mouth was the random image -- a starting point. I think the rest of the image just developed from words like, "trapped", "entrapment", "capture", "devour" (free association ^_^)... thus the carnivorous plants in the image, the hair, and the spider's web.
I love butterflies. I don't ever catch one for collecting or anything. This was just an idea.

I can only aspire to my 'random doodles' being this good. If I want something to look as stunning as this, i'd have to do a lot of planning.

This is just ridiculously beautiful! The detail is amazing and the way it flows round . . . it's gorgeous. I especially love her eyes - the way they sparkle.

Heheh, eh well it happens. I think they give an interesting glimpse into the artist's subconscious, if you ask me. Unwittingly unleashes a hint of what lies dormant behind their concentration.

I know the feeling, some of the things I say or do without thinking get me a lot of 'c __c'' looks. An unsettling touch makes things that much more interesting, I think x]

It looks like a silenced madness... somehow the woman seems to be a bit off in the head. And not only because she's holding the butterfly.
Her expression also makes me think that she is wild, but restrained by elegance.
