"Would you know my name
if I saw you in heaven?"
The silence was deafening.
The bespectacled redhead could hear every tap the soles of his shoes made across the marble as he walked towards an open door.
"Jasper!" He greets her on his usual excited tone, "you busy?"
She shuffles from her seat and faces the man, "Tin." she calls his name, acknowledging his presence before she shakes her head, a gentle smile still ever-present on her.
He takes her by the wrist and guides her up, grinning from ear to ear,
"I'm gonna show you something, but...well...not here."
The woman follows slowly after him, the slight curve on her lips fading into confusion.
"Where are we going?" she asks, but he remains silent, still pulling her to an uncertain direction.
After what seemed a tireless forever, they wound up at the doorway to the ballroom.
He stops at the doors, then lets go of her wrist. "Close your eyes first."
She raises a brow, chuckling, then closes her eyes as he directed.
The creaking sound of the two heavy doors opening echoes across the hall, and he holds the brunette by her shoulders, gently pushing, guiding her in.
As they got to the edge of the round room, for whatever courage willed him to do it, he braces himself together and breathes for a second and finally...he takes both of her hands.
And he thought to himself, how strange it was,
how well her warm palms fit on his on his own.
He'd seen it once, no doubt,
yet now, it seems, he could not place its whereabouts;
A feeling more nostalgic, than new...
... of coming home after a long month of June.
And through the roses tainting his cheeks, he announces,
"mine saint, might I have this dance?"

oHBOI ITS BEEN SO LONG SINCE IVE TOUCHED SO MUCH BREATHED IN A PENTAB
SO THIS THING RIGHT HERE WAS MEANT TO BE A QUICK DOODLE TO TEST OUT MY NEW WACOM
and uh...that explains the sketchy lineart and unpolished coloring OTL
but yeah the reason I drew Jasper on a different set of clothing is to emphasize her difference to her past self, also that thing on the reflection is supposed to be a night sky full of stars (which symbolizes heaven) and the former Jasper dancing with her husband in heaven.
I actually intended to talk more about the symbolism in the picture but, well, where's the fun in that? ;^D
