Hi I was wondering if you have any patterns for this or if you can recommend a suitable site to find one in (preferably free). Beautiful dress

Hi Unfortunately I don't know if there are patterns you can find (on the Internet or in books) for this kind of dress in particular, but it's quite simple to realise. I think you can find some "bliaut patterns" (12th century) on the Web and change them in the details so that they will fit to this kind of dress As far as I'm concerned, I made my pattern basing my works on medieval "classic" patterns for cloths and adapting them to what I could see on illuminatings and sculptures.

It's ok I think I've managed to find some blogs that help explain the process. I made a dress last year... it was ok but I think I'll re-work it and hopefully it will work out better I love the embroidery detail you put around the neckline, I'm hoping to get my hands on some ribbon that might better replicate what I had in mind. Last year I had to make do with a thinner ribbon in the wrong colour, plus I made a mistake with the measurements so it ended up being a bit too short and too wide. Fingers crossed I'll get it right this time!

Always worth it! ^^ I hand-stitch my stuff too, but I'm not so good at embroidery yet...

Medieval embroidery isn't too complicated compared to 18th or 19th century embroidery (I gave up those 2...)it only needs a lot of patience I'seen your realisations, I'm sure you can do it.

Right! Need to change that (I should not write too fast and use copy/paste as I do but otherwise I would spend far too many hours on DeviantArt ^^)
