Description
As the son of a lighthouse keeper, Arthur Curry was a young man of meager means, intrigued by abilities that he alone seemed to possess. He was incredibly strong, could make sea creatures obey him, and could remain underwater for a limitless amount of time. It wasn’t until massive tsunamis claimed his father’s life that his half-atlantean origins were revealed to him.
He sought his mother, the exiled Queen of Atlantis in the depths of the sea, but instead, he found his half brother, Orm, the illegitimate master of the ocean, whose war against the land had taken the life of Arthur’s father. He defeated Orm and claimed the throne of Atlantis. But war continued to plague the oceans.
The kingdom of Xebel, resentful from years of war against Atlantis, was hesitant to listen to Arthur’s pleas for peace but, after several years a way presented itself. Mera, the heir to the throne of Xebel, agreed to an alliance through marriage to Arthur. It seemed that the seas would finally know an end to war.
All of that changed when a ruthless treasure hunter known as Black Manta laid waste to the capital of Xebel, causing its citizens to presume the peace overture was an Atlantean ruse to strike a deadly blow against its long-time enemy.
With the armies of Xebel poised against him, Arthur had no choice but to discover the secret motives of the Black Manta, or watch his kingdom and all he had worked for be destroyed.
