Farmvalis is quite the hunk. I like the texture you added with the extra brush strokes.

wow man this is really cool. He looks like he'd get along well with my character Sol, he starts life as a blacksmith's apprentice.
Regardless, I really like the very painterly style here, it's an excellent use of photoshop and I am entirely too jealous of your growing ability.

Looks good, but the scythe doesn't look too functional. Needs a curved pole and an angled blade. I never understood how scythes work as a weapon with a design as you have it, but they're cool none-the-less.
I wish I had some help or classes with digital coloring or painting. I'd practice on my own, but I don't really have any time for such things at the moment.
I like that he no longer has huge feet. lol

Yeah i always favored the axe/scythe hybrid look for whatever reason. A friend of mind in class the other day brought his laptop in and was showing me some tips, so crazy helpful. Ive yet to really take a how to digitally paint class per se. Just takes a butt load of dedication. As far as feet size, when wearing boots, and armor plates on top, kinda makes the feet large lo

Farmboys-cum-Warriors are epic.
*totally not saying that cause that's my character as well >o>*
Great job though. Love how all the strokes look in the background. They give it a sort of oil painting feel.

lol really didnt think it looked THAT good, but thanks all the same. I think the two classes that are really helping me are Heads and Hands, and Still Life Paintng in Oils. Apparently i love oil painting, who knew?

painting traditionally helps you digitally? how is this so?

arvalis In reply to Eggtastic [2010-09-29 23:37:07 +0000 UTC]
Its all just painting, photoshop is just another medium like oil paints. Each tool can do things the other cant. I never painted traditionally before this class, im having a blast. Oil painting is cazy awesome fun.

So you thinking taking up traditional painting would help digitally?

Absolutely, i cannot stress enough how much traditional and digital mediums compliment one another.

He's so cute in a manly but boyish sort of way
it's really hard to describe what I mean
he is obviously a man but he still looks pretty young and inexperienced but obviously no pushover
he's the right balance between slightly pudgy and muscular, he's not too much of either
tl;dr great work as usual owo

Awesome execution. Though he doesn't come off so strongly as "farm-boy", he looks more the heroic adventure type.
