Here is a new valkyrie concept. I really like the direction i got in this drawing. She is supposed to look like a warrior who happens to a be a girl and not a girl who happens to be a warrior. I tried to make her look more like a real soldier ready for battle and not like some sexy, chain mail bikini wearing hussy. Oh dont ask how her wings get through the armor, its complicated.Pen: 30 min

I just happened to stumble upon this picture a while back. I wanted to ask if it would be alright to use this as a reference for one of my own characters? Namely the helmet, though I like the over all look of it. Since the character I would use it for is male, it would go through a bit of a re design, not much obviously with how well off this already is. Though I felt it would be better to go ahead and ask, instead of letting you browse DA and find something remarkably similar to your Valkyrie.

Gorgeous and realistic armor aside, I'm truly floored by the wings. They look exactly like eagle wings. So many people screw them up and you not only didn't make the standard generic crap, you actually obviously researched what a goddamn bird looks like. It perfects the concept and makes it truly believable.

lol its kinda really hard to explain but here goes.
OK so basis of the story is like 10,000 years ago there was a race of alien humanoids we know as the gods, all the gods like the Egyptian ones, Greek ones were all great friends they were no different to you and I. so it turns out these gods wernt god at all they were just so technologically advanced (to the point where they actually became gods) we thought they were gods. so these alien god things are all like yeah i can make these earthlings bow down to me and the Christian god (who is this races god) is like GTFO!!!! and eventually breaks this alien race into two opposing factions one that dedicated themselves to him becoming the angels and archangles we know now in christianity and the others into science and technology becoming the demons and devils we know not in christianity but in religion all together. For example the main character in my story has a powered suit with Anubis's head as his helmet. And one of the main archangles Gabrie has a white beard is mega tank and can throw lightning (sounds like Zeus huh?) so do you kinda get the drift of it???

Y'know, I think you're the first person that I see that actually cares about the protection and just the sexinness level on their drawing when it come to female warriors. Keep it up, it looks fine and has good detail.

The design looks very ornate and practical as well. The only draw back to the armor is that I doubt she would be able to fly with all that weight. But still it's quite detailed and I'm amazed at how clean looking it came out since it was completely drawn in pen XD.

Hey how will you ever improve if you never show people what you do, there are most likely a lot of things that you might not be able to see that oters can point out. Trust me it really helps to have people tell ya what you are doing wrong, especially if you want to improve at a brisk pace.

o_O; I was looking at the picture thinking it was a man, but staring at the chest saying "are those boobs?" While I adore the idea of a Chain-mail bikini wearing Hussy... I like your look better because it makes her... more fearsome. It makes her practical and in the world of the big baddies fearsome and practical work better than sexy. No one would take a warrior serious if she were wearing a chain-mail bikini [because how do you protect yourself from another REAL warrior if you're wearing almost nothing?]. I do dig the idea of the corset thing you almost have going on though. *giggle*

Yeah, dont get me wrong i love a good bikini clad warrior, but the idea was for a more realistic take on the girl warrior.

well, i think you achieved your goal. i mean, i kinda thought it was a guy, but i had to look really hard at the lines in the chest to confirm what she really is, y'know aside from the fact that most (if not all, i dont know) valkyrie are women. Nice job here, i get what you're saying about the typical look, so this is a refresher, but the wings kinda look scaly at the top. unless they're supposed to. I'm not sure. either way, this is really good.
