Description This image was inspired by many songs ,poetry and stories that I have heard over the years about ship wrecks, smugglers and wreckers. Interpret the image as you wish....is she holding aloft a false light to lure a ship onto the rocks so her people can plunder the wreckage.....or is she waiting and watching for her love to return home from distant shores?

The main photograph is a picture of Moy Castle, Western Scotland, taken with an Infra Red filter. The other images and brushes are also my own stock and photoshop CS2.

It looks like an evil witch luring some unsuspecting ship straight into rocks to me. The whole image is superb Angie. The dark toning brings a new depth of fear and foreboding to this piece. As always, your attention to detail is exceptional. You've set a truly haunting and fearsome scene here.

It's still amazing for me to think that you took this shot in broad daylight! To be able to turn what would otherwise be a pleasant and very beautiful "landscape shot" into this remarkable piece, full of ghastly horrors and imagery is the mark of a truly gifted Artist.

This is brilliant work Angie. Your imagination has no boundaries. Your skill is undeniable. It's an incredible composition, and you should feel very proud to have created it.

her face says that she's waiting for her love to safely return...amazing
...reminds me of an old...well it's not a lighthouse as it's about 1m high, but it was used to signal ships and it's in istria, croatia. and the story tells about a fisherman's daughter who held a fire there while waiting for the noble son she loved to come back during the storm. he did return safely, and they got married. and now the legend says that each woman touching that would get married soon. all i know that all of us there ran away at once...too bad i did not have a camera at that time to take a photo of thet place

Thankyou for sharing the story Ilharess Thats exactly the kind of story I was refering too in my inspiration. We have an old Inn here in the village that has a ghost of a woman who waits in the window for her returning fisherman husband....unfortunatly this time he diden't return
