Work in progress . . . Very slow progress too. But here's another piece with my desert drakes! A lot of new challenges with this one. I don't know that I am loving it, but there are a lot of things I like. Now that I've got the three drakes done, it's one to the background! Full description will come with the finished product, but basically one male challenged another over a pretty girl who just watches in amusement.Please don't point out anatomical errors. I know there's a ton of them. Folded wings are extremely difficult to draw. And the dominant male was . . . interesting to do. Oh, well. Hope you enjoy!

I love this one...even at this stage in the works. that golden colour really glows. The non dominant male reminds me of the little dragonling I've used in some of my paintings. I imagine the size of these are more along the lines of 'normal' dragons.

I figure they're big enough to carry off a horse or mule deer, but not too far. They are fun creatures to draw and the colors are a lot of fun. Now, I have to get the background one, but I'm so unmotivated in that regard.

Ah, but the background will add so much! I'm doing my own version of Goblin Valley. If you haven't heard of it, do a Google search. It is such a cool place! They used it in Galaxy Quest, if you ever saw that movie.

AH, that one...with the big rock monsters and the'cute' little guys that turns out to have huge teeth and eat people!
It's good entertainment when you're in the mood for something that doesn't take itself seriously

That was the first DVD I ever bought. A friend who was a huge fan of Star Trek showed it to a group of us, and we all just laughed. The scene towards the end when the captain is getting information from the kid, and kid is babbling on about how he knows it's a show, then the captain interrupts him to tell him it's all real, and the kid shouts, "I knew it!" We all looked at my friend and laughed. Good memories, there . . . That show always brings a smile to my face. I hope you can get it soon! Maybe after you marry that nice, rich guy, right?

I love that show - some if it's incarnations more than others admittedly.
Hehe...don't we all wish (and secretly believe altough no one would EVER admit that, truly admit that,) some of the things are real - even though there might have to be a breakdown of interdimensional proportions for us to get there. Hmm

Yeah, Voyager is still my all-time favorite. All though I love the movies First Contact and Generations (I think that's the name of it?). My brothers all like sonic screwdrivers, though . . . (from Doctor Who).

Guess I'm old fashioned...the biggest piece of my ST side has to go to the original series (even if watching that today makes you laugh so much) with Enterprise coming a good second.
Hehe...Yay for Dr who - very useful little gadget that one, and let's face it, who wouldn't want a time AND space machine (though I'd prefer one with less a mind of its own

Definitely! You ever watch the original Dr. Who, or just the new one? I've only seen the new one, and my Netflix keeps telling me I would love the old ones . . .
I never did get into the original Star Trek. I couldn't get past the effects and costumes, but I was a teenager when I tried it anyways. I did like The Next Generation, but Enterprise didn't quite win me over. You ever wonder why a Vulcan has to be on every crew?

well...as the 'old' one comprises FIVE different doctors -
*grins* I think the original series is something you have to have watched first as a small child to really love (for most people at least) Since Northern Europe's always been ages behind the states in terms of showing the shows - I grew up watching the original series on our channels long before they started airing NG (despite it having run for several seasons over with you).

And I will check them out yet! Ecclestone is my favorite Doctor. He's just great! I've only one episode with the guy that replaced him, and didn't get to finish it . . .

Probably not. The rocks will be really similar in shade to the two males. Plus, a blue sky. Wow, maybe it might happen unintentionally! I'm doing two more horse duochromatic pieces. This will have a similar color scheme to "His World" . Now, I just need to finish that background . . .

Thank you! I look at it and see tons of things wrong. But, they are difficult poses and I just kinda gave up getting them perfect. But they have life, don't they! I love the movement in this and I think the colors will be gorgeous when it's done.
