Finally, I have an update. Long overdue!This started as a pretty mindless doodle, but I ended up finishing it mainly for the sake of actually finishing something for once. So, not surprisingly, it's firmly rooted in my comfort zone! But at least it's goddamn finished. Maybe I should count all the WIPs lying on my harddrive.
A little explanation. This is a woman is wearing a traditional 19th century Icelandic costume. Thing is, my summer job right now is at an open-air museum (Árbæjarsafn, for Icelanders), where part of the job is wearing old-time outfits. I usually wear something more mundane, but on Sundays and other occasions I wear this fancier one, although in a different colour scheme. It's a great job! Although it's mandatory for us girls to wear braids. I'm not exactly a fan.
So I let this lady here have her hair loose.Oh, and just for fun, here's a photo of me wearing this costume along with two other girls at the museum, I'm on the far left: [link] The photographer used the old fashioned way to photograph us!

Oh don't worry about it; I wouldn't want you to go to any trouble over it. I was just thinking that it makes for a really cool reference, and it'd be cool to get a hold of a larger version if you had one, like the original version when it was scanned in. Hey so, do you have to like play-act like you're in the olden days when visitors come through? You know, like Living History Farms? [link]

And yeah, we wear old-time costumes all day and do all kinds of work from those times. We're not allowed to be seen with modern equipment and such. But we probably don't go as far as many other similar play-acts do, we do i.e. not speak like we're "actually" old

Var verulega gaman að rekast á þig þarna um daginn og enn skemmtilegra að sjá þessa mynd því mér finnst vanta fleirri skemmtilegar myndir þar sem íslenskum hefðum er fagnað. Einfaldi bakgrunnurinn lætur hana "poppa" svo vel að maður rýnir endalaust í fatnaðinn hennar. Vel gert og gaman að sjá þig actíva aftur.
