The P18 Pistol has the distinction of being one of the oldest firarms in the Coalition inventory (entered service 1049) to still be standard-issue for frontline troops. This can mainly be attributed to the excellent performance, adaptability and reliability of the platform. This reliability comes in part from its caseless ammunition, greatly reducing the P18's complexity and operation. Be it the frozen splinters of the Tikri belt or the dusty sun-baked mudflats of Balas-Fuur, Coalition soldiers can rely on their trusty P18 sidearm in any environment.
Like most weapons of the mid-to-late 11th century SC, the P18 pistol uses a hybrid chemical ignition - magnetic acceleration system to drive its projectiles to even greater velocities.
