Well....Thats about it..2013 is about to die, 2014 is about to live!!  So with that in mind, This feature is all about wonderful people, wonderful artists and all things wonderful!! Happy new year everyone!!

This is great and so detailed. I want to paint my chinchilla, and have no real idea how to even start!

Thanks so much! For animals I start with a medium color base coat for each section of different color. I map in some of the shadows from there and go in with different layers of washes getting a little brighter with each layer. That's what works for me, but it might be a completely different technique that would work for you

Oh, thanks for describing how you do it! I will remember it when the day comes where I finally decide to try it. It makes sense--layer in the darks and lights and texture. I only recently started layering with acrylics, so I'm still new, lol, but it sounds like it will work.
