Description Jeez this is so overdue it's ridiculous. It took some help from Nestly to simplify her design enough but I finally got it done... I'll put her in a full NPC reference later.

Iset is the mother of Djehuti and Ico (Ico is adopted). She comes originally from the desert region of Qa'retu, which borders the ancestral home of the Imperial civilization. Her family, the Dzhanni clan, is very wealthy... having earned their fortune through trade and exploration (and some of the nastier rumors say tomb robbing). Their success allowed many individuals of the Dzhanni more leisure time than workers of a lower class, and they used this time to become scholars and philosophers.

She met Djehuti's father, whom she doesn't talk about, in her travels when she was young. He was an archaeologist and explorer as well and they shared much in common, but while Iset greatly wanted to start a family, he was in love with his work, and they slowly grew apart. They moved to Wynsiph as part of the pursuit of his research into ancient Warptide sanctuaries, and Iset was endeared with the quiet, green countryside and the pleasant inhabitants. When his research drew him elsewhere, Iset, carrying his egg, opted to stay behind. He hasn't returned and she has since moved on, had her collection of books moved in and set up an extensive library, which she gladly shares with everyone who has a love of or need for knowledge and respect for the books. She treasures Djehuti and fell instantly in love with Ico when he hatched out at her home, opting to adopt him herself rather than leaving him at the Nook.

Iset loves children, and wynglings visiting her library are often given milk and cookies (though they must eat them away from the stacks so that the books stay clean!) As an avid advocate of knowledge and learning, she frequently holds readings at the library and visits the Nook to help teach the wynglings to read, as well as some other subjects such as history and science.  She also knows some water, earth and light magic, and is especially gifted with wind magic, but she does not teach these subjects and rather leaves that to Netty and Zagor (thought she could be brought in as a consultant one day, who knows!)

Iset and the rest of the Dzhanni manifest many avian qualities and almost all possess flight capable wings, leading some from their home region to suspect they may be descended from some ancient tribe of Wind-wyngrew. Their natural knack for wind magic seems to support this. Iset owns a lot of jewelry, but rarely wears much of it, feeling that flagrant displays of wealth might put off her Wynsiph neighbors. She does encourage Djehuti to wear it however because 'it makes him look so handsome'. In truth she has sold off pieces in order to make acquisitions for her library, which is her most treasured material possession.

She's looking awesome Ascynd, I'm glad I could help! I'm sure you'll be drawing her much more detailed in your own way too.

And glad she's finally public!

Thanks, I've had her in my head since creating Djehuti. Had a much more complex idea of what she looked like, but since she is to be an official NPC her design needed to be made simpler and easier to draw. Plus the ori legs came out and they were perfect for her, heh...

That is awesome that you could finally bring her to life. Did you happen to have any concepts of her original idea? Would be awesome to see since her character does seem to screams potential (being bird inspired and all.)

Here is the original:

Her anatomy is a little off in terms of the arms vs leg ratio. Although she could have the equilibrium upgrade, I don't think it's necessary, heh...

My goodness, I really love your original concept. It's such a shame that you couldn't roll with it as an NPC now that I see her. Those feet especially are so superb. I feel she's old and wise enough for that equilibrium upgrade, man, haha. Wish you could have just removed or simplified her attire and kept all the beautiful bird markings. It's seriously a fantastic concept; thank you for sharing!
