Upgrades incorporated: Pixie Wings*, Pixie Ears*, Hopping Feet*, Antennae (Butterfly)*, Plant Growth*, Lion Tail, Dapples, Banded, Black Pupils, Accessories (Bandanna & Earring), Cheek Fluff, Butt Fluff, Hair Tuft. He is a round-headed Biped.* Pending upgrades likely to be available to all eventually.
A very small Wyngro with a big personality, Skerra is seen in town very rarely, only coming in to trade uncut glowstones for technological odds and ends. He often gets questions about why he is so very small (about 1/2 the size of an adult biped, only slightly larger than a wyngling), and why there seems to be a colorful garden of desert plants growing out of his back, but he answers that he simply is who he is. Scholars and more worldly Wyngrew might recognize him as belonging to a reclusive breed of Wyngrew who are all unusually small and tend to eschew civilization to live a simple life deep in the wilds, in harmony with nature.
What is even less known about Skerra is that he is a master of Earth magic, and may be willing to teach some of his particular secrets to a polite and curious Wyngro who also shows a deep respect for the natural world.
Also, his antennae and eyes glow in the dark... because of this he has no trouble at all finding his way around the mining tunnels where he makes his home.

Oh man I love all your sporadic inspirational ideas! XD So fun! I esspecially like the idea of certain pixie's wanding into different towns for trading purposes every so often. Rare gems and other magical plants and such. Super fun.
I bet Pixies have lots of really extra special magic things they don't share with the rest of the world because they'll abuse it.
Also jeeeeeze Skerra is just as cute/if not cuter than Bello. <3 I just love him naaaaawwwrrr. Kangroo feets.

As to whether or not to teach special magics... I think Skerra, if not all Pixies, doesn't really think of it so much as others being unworthy... more that they have been trusted by the incarnations of nature with these secrets, and to not be supremely careful about whom they shared them with would be a betrayal of that trust.
Pixies are probably deeply spiritual and shamanic, and avoid civilization because they feel there are too many distractions from their connection with the natural world. It's likely they take no offense at other Wyngrew who do not make that choice, and are happy to quietly live and let live, as long as their homelands are not being threatened. That being said, there's nothing to say that there aren't some individuals who are arrogant about their way of life and look down on others... but as long as there is no conflict I think most are understanding.
However it is rare for them to invite outsiders into their homes, unless it is someone they deeply trust, not only to take care what they do, but to keep their secret. Outsiders, especially in numbers, could be inadvertently disruptive and may unwittingly wander into sacred or dangerous places. This may make them seem xenophobic (and some communities may indeed be xenophobic).

Maybe some mentors could have secret magic tricks they can teach Wyngrew using the self-learning rules... providing an extra reward for including NPC's with complex and/or tricky designs into a picture.

Don't sweat it, this is just an NPC I designed by throwing together some of the proposed new upgrades. There is a breed behind its story though that I believe will be more accessible than the other, but it won't be fleshed out until the other is first.
As for the other, I am working on some sketches for the details and proportions of the adult form... but it may be awhile before I finish because I'm very much a perfectionist and I won't be satisfied until it looks just right. On top of that I have a job, a spouse and other things demanding my attention as well, and I still need to do the homework pictures for Verbena and Djehuti.
But my muse is a harsh mistress and absolutely demanded I draw this guy when I saw the page full of proposed upgrades. I cannot resist when inspiration strikes or it will abandon me, and I'll really be screwed. So you'll have to forgive me for not being as prolific or adhering to an order as some other artists. If I could be that organized with my art I'd be doing it professionally.
Also be aware that there is a huge backlog of concepts we've thought up to flesh out the world of Wyngro, but like me, Nestly and the others have other demands on our time, as well as needing to pay attention to whatever event is already underway (even if it were possible, it would be confusing to have everything happen at once). You'll have to forgive me again for leaking things once in awhile, sometimes I get smacked upside the head by inspiration and when I see what I've made I can't help but share it.
Don't worry though, every thing I've shown will eventually go in and some of the things I've previewed before already have (markings, etc.) and there is an order of priority for it. The art and execution just takes more time than the thought process.
And yes, this fellow's breed will be explained, but the Imperials' reference must be finished first.
