It looks really soft, the pencil work isn't harsh at all--lovely effect.
The fur is awesome, by the way. I admire fur that's done well; it's something I always struggled with, the very few times I've attempted.
The only thing I can think of to make the picture better, without screwing with the absence of a background (it actually works in this), is to make the dog's eyes more... sparkly. Do you know what I mean? Right now, they're dark with just a hint of depth--animal eyes, especially dark eyes, are notorious for being finicky on the depth issue. They're smallish, though, so I don't know how much better reflection would help, as you probably wouldn't notice...

i think the feather had a native american feel? it would be interesting to do one with that flavor, with warm earthy tones.

Very nice piece. I love the soft texture. Dunno about the pierced ear though... that's kinda scary, LOL... but everything else and the butterflies is very cool.
