For the record, the horse that Aragorn has in that scene is Hasuel (a chestnut). Β he doesn't get Bregor (a bay) until he meets him in Rohan and Hasufel is killed by the wargs. But regardless, very funny! Shadowfax doesn't really seem to be any better then their horses! ;'D

Riding a big pale grey horse into battle is a great way to get shot at. You're one great big bulls eye. I'd rather ride a plain bay or chestnut and not be noticed.

Love it! Cause really, though undoubtedly a gorgeous stallion, Shadowfax isn't all that impressive in this movie. He can't even outpace the other horses. What's up with that? :-P

He's an andalusian. Spanish horses are not bred for speed, so he's slow! But they are great hand-to-hand combat war horses.

I personally like Brego the best of the horses, but when I pictured Shadowfax I was thinking of this totally majestic animal. But in the movie Shadowfax was just....a horsie.
Not that he was a bad horse, I just pictured him with a ridiculously long mane.
