EDIT: I had noticed that I forgot to mention something....*When you create a copy background layer, delete the original with the lock to the right of the layer name. That lock means that you will not be able to alter the layer at all. So just get rid of it.

This is my first tutorial. Part One: Lineart
This is how I line my art. I think that this is pretty easy to follow. Basic Photoshop knowledge is required though.
Method works best with a tablet & pen.

When you open up your scan, if you double-click on the scan layer, it'll make it an editable one and you can just make layers around it. 
Nice tutorial, though! Very nice piece of work, too.

You could just unlock it [the crossarrow, if I remember correctly] or press ''make layer from background''?
