Aah I finally finished this!!

This is for Day 3 of Tsunemori Week on tumblr - Song. The lyrics are from Time to Say Goodbye (by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams). Have a listen to the song while reading/scrolling through www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQXe22… . I didn't illustrate all the lyrics (it was already getting too long for me to handle!), so if the lyrics you hear don't match with what you see, just wait a bit until the next lyrics that I included comes on haha. (Did that make sense? I spent so long on this today that I've stayed up way too late again. I need sleeeep).

I think this songs suits Akane so well. In Season 1 especially, Akane is forced to grow and change so fast in response to the horrific and often personal crimes she's exposed to. Not only that, but her sense of justice is challenged when she finds out the true nature of the Sibyl system. Any normal person would probably crumble under the stress of it all, but Akane manages to stand tall and grow stronger over the course of season, while still keeping her own morals intact. It's one of the reasons why she's one of my favourite characters

Anyway, this whole thing was really exciting to paint. I've always wanted to try out one of these song-comic things but I've never tried it before. It's all pretty sketchy, partly because I'm too lazy to properly detail things for so many scenes and partly because I accidentally made the canvas too small (I fit all the panels into one file haha). I guess that's something to remember for next time!
