I made this for my sister for Christmas, thought I'd may as well do it because my fabric didn't come yesterday, so I got started on my Christmas presents!!She's Neytiri from Avatar
My sister loves my BJPs and asked for this for Christmas
She's made from felt, her markings are drawn on with felt-tip pen and then lightly hairsprayed, which surprisingly doesn't make the felt stiff, but keeps the markings on
She also has glitter on her face (which you probably can't see) which is also lightly hairsprayed on I also altered the pattern for the face so she had an Avatar nose
I hope she's recognisable!!

That's felt? From the picture I thought it was suede at first.
Hairspray makes the markings stay on better?
I'm tempted to try that, but can't for a while. All my plushes get played with, usually by smaller kids, so I can't risk them getting any in their mouth XD
I'll have to save the trick for more of a shelf doll. Still, it's something to bear in mind
Back on topic though, she came out beautifully. Especially the slender body shape. It suits her nicely!

Yeah I definitely wouldn't recommend it for toys that are meant for playing with!! I found this fabric paint that apparently keeps the fabric soft after painting it on and I was really tempted to try it but I cant really afford it right now. I'll try and find out the brand name for you if you like though

Yeah, all of mine are meant for younger owners, unless someone specifically asks for something more decorative.

Cute! I'm surprised the hairspray doesn't make the felt stiff, but I've never used it so I wouldn't know. I could totally tell it was a Na'vi, and I had been awake instead of a brain dead zombie I would have been able to tell it was Neytiri.
I think the photo doesn't show the glitter well enough nor the markings. At first I thought they were shadows. However I think that's part of me being brain dead. The glitter is a good idea. I think that's better than using something like glow-in-the-dark paint. Heh.
